Some things don't need reinventing. A towel should be soft, absorb well, and last. Essential is made from 100% cotton at 400 g/m², with wide hems, five decorative stripes on the short ends, and a loop for hanging. OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 certified. Available in White and Natural.

Cotton is one of the oldest cultivated fibers. People in the Indus Valley were growing and spinning it more than 5,000 years ago, and it spread through trade routes to Egypt, Greece and beyond. The loops on a towel (terry) came much later. Weaving them at scale arrived with 19th-century looms, and ever since the idea has been the same: thousands of tiny loops that hold water. Nothing about the basic towel has needed fixing since.
